Transfer Planning


Introduction
Many students come to Montgomery College with the intent of transferring to a four year school to earn a Bachelor's degree.  The process can be confusing.  In this module you will learn the tools to make a smooth transition from MC to your next stop on the education highway.


Information

Complete the 9 steps of the Transfer Tutorial (Step by Step).

  • Meet with a counselor each semester prior to registering for classes. 
  • Begin by taking General Education courses in your first year. Become familiar with Maryland’s regulations on General Education and Transfer.
  • Explore majors
  • Search for colleges
  • Research admission requirements  for each college or university that interests you.
  • Narrow down your choices
  • Create a Transfer Plan - Choose courses that will transfer smoothly.
  • Apply for Admission  
  • Search for resources to pay for college - scholarships and financial aid

When you are finished make sure to explore all the other transfer information on the Transfer Website
